The workday

Start with where you'll actually work.

Your workplace is more specific than a hospital system's name. Before comparing homes, identify the campuses, clinics, and other destinations that will be part of your regular schedule.

A clear picture of the whole journey helps you evaluate a property more realistically: leaving home, getting to the right location, parking, and reaching your workplace.

Official location information

Compare the entire trip.

Start a route check with the precise property address and work destination. Review it at times that resemble your expected schedule, and try the journey during a visit when possible. A general map estimate is a starting point for a conversation.

Ask your employer about employee parking, entrances, shuttle options, and any schedule-specific requirements. Patient parking information may not describe your arrangements as an employee.

Make room in the comparison for weather, construction, and major events. If walking, cycling, or transit is important to you, evaluate those options for the actual route you would use.

Consider every regular destination.

If you work across locations, list the expected frequency at each one. For a move with a partner, include their work and other essential destinations too. This creates a more useful home-search brief than choosing a radius around one building.

Adam can help you organize the housing comparison around those priorities. Your department remains the source for assignments, parking eligibility, and any call-related expectations.

A few common questions.

Can I choose a neighborhood using a stated commute time?

Use that figure as an estimate, then verify the actual route and time of day. Include parking and the final walk, and revisit the estimate when conditions change.

What if my work locations are not final?

Identify the likely destinations and the questions still open. We can compare housing options without treating an unconfirmed assignment as fixed.
